Hemkunt Sahib Yatra

Day 1: Chandigarh to Haridwar (approx. 200 km / 5–6 hrs)

Your sacred journey begins with a morning drive from Chandigarh to Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham and the land of the Ganges. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a spiritual experience by the riverbank. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Joshimath (approx. 275 km / 9–10 hrs)

After an early breakfast, proceed towards Joshimath, a beautiful town nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. The journey passes through scenic mountain roads, river valleys, and towns like Devprayag and Rudraprayag. On arrival in Joshimath by late evening, check into your hotel and rest. Overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 3: Joshimath to Govindghat – Ghangaria (approx. 22 km drive + 13 km trek)

Post breakfast, drive to Govindghat, the base point for the trek. From here, start your 13 km trek to Ghangaria, a serene village that serves as the base for Hemkunt Sahib and Valley of Flowers. You can either trek on foot, hire a pony, or take a helicopter (subject to availability and weather). Reach Ghangaria by late afternoon or evening and check into a guesthouse. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkunt Sahib and Return (6 km trek each way)

Start early in the morning for the steep 6 km uphill trek to Hemkunt Sahib, located at an altitude of over 15,000 ft. The sacred Gurudwara is surrounded by snow-covered peaks and a glacial lake – a truly divine and breathtaking sight. After darshan and some time in meditation, begin your descent back to Ghangaria by afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat – Badrinath – Joshimath (13 km trek + drive)

After breakfast, trek back down to Govindghat and proceed by road to Badrinath, one of the Char Dhams. Visit the Badrinath Temple and take a dip in Tapt Kund. After darshan, return to Joshimath for overnight stay.

Day 6: Joshimath to Haridwar (approx. 275 km / 9–10 hrs)

Begin your return journey from Joshimath to Haridwar after an early breakfast. The scenic drive offers views of rivers, mountains, and confluences. Upon reaching Haridwar, relax and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

Day 7: Haridwar to Chandigarh (approx. 200 km / 5–6 hrs)

After breakfast, drive back to Chandigarh, marking the end of your spiritual and adventurous Hemkunt Sahib Yatra. Reach by evening with divine memories and blessings.
